I stopped at $400. It isn't me.

It's interesting that a lot of these Strangercrombie things are basically people paying for the privilege of doing someone else's job (writing for the Stranger, booking a club, etc.). I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all, but it must be kind of cool to know that there are people out there willing to pay a lot of money to do your job.

Does this mean that everyone else's slogging privileges will be cut off for seven days in January?

No--the winner will join the usual writers.

Isn't me. Sad to say. Inga won't let me spend that much money.

Hey Amy Kate:

Can I sell my slogging privileges on the Strangercrombie black market?

That sounds like a fine idea Chicago Fan!

the problem with that idea is that it undercuts the bid of the person on top already. why would someone bid $400 on a single item if there are 2 identical items for sale?

Oh god, please, let it not be Issur.

$400 + bucks! Wow, I love The Slog, but that is WAY too rich for my blood...

I'll bet it's ecce homo. And it doesn't matter how many times you exhort the masses not to feed the trolls, there's always somebody who can't resist or didn't get the memo.

Ahem. The Slogging rights at auction are the same rights all edit staffers and a few freelancers enjoy -- same rules apply. All Slog posts are subject to editing. So while we're auctioning off this item in good faith, we're not going to let some asshat hijack Slog. You don't have to like us -- it would be more interesting if someone that didn't got it the item -- but you can't blow in here and make Slog unreadable for a week by swamping it with idiotic posts or indictments of everyone on the masthead, etc.

FYI.
