The Clinton campaign seems desperate to push back against the new "Obama rising" story-line that came out of the big Iowa poll this weekend. So this morning the Clinton press people are calling reporters' attention to two other new polls that show her in the lead in Iowa: This one (Clinton 31, Obama 26) and this one (Clinton 31, Obama 20)....

Interesting.

But if Sen Clinton keeps this up, she'll be missing out on a cabinet appointment and VP Dodd won't like how she reacts to President Obama ...

It's fair and more objective to point out all the relevant polls instead of relying on just one. Saying it's desperate is unfair. Picking just one is subjective.

That said, Clinton is going to lose Iowa. She's been stumpbling and hasn't really recovered.

Edwards' lower poll percentage is going to translate to a possible win because most of his folks have been to caucuses before. Obama's and Clinton's supporters -- will they show up? Hard to predict. Most haven't been to caucuses before. It's a huge drag (2 hours, in the snow, the Orange bowl will be on, new years' hangovers).

Obama will benefit more than C. or E. from the change-your-mind-if-your-candidate-gets-less-than-15% rule.
He could have a big win.

Too bad Washington isn't the state going first, we would have personally met all these candidates by now if it were.

One of my best friends lives in Cedar Rapids and is a lifelong Democrat. He gets calls from the campaigns all the time, but has never specifically been invited to meet any of the candidates in person. Though there are tons of "meet'n'greets" where if you are needy and selfimportant you can show up in the hopes that maybe the candidate might shake your hand.
