What topics will the forum be on?

It's an open forum. There's nothing set up yet. Bring your questions.

You know, I would imagine that people who have been subjected to police misconduct would be interested in attending... if it weren't held in a police station.

Sorry, I'd like to go but, after what they did to me, there is no way that I would willingly go near an SPD police station.

Right, keep bitching about the Stranger not being critical enough of the SPD on Slog, though. That will certainly make a difference in everything.

Or you could stop being a pussy and just go.

Wait, Packratt thinks we haven't been critical enough of SPD???

@3: While I agree that SPD should not hold an accountability forum at a station, you should step up and go if you have something to say. Cops are everywhere, they're unavoidable. Call them on their bullshit or it'll keep on raining.

@4

Seriously, if the police messed with you, would you go to a meeting held in a police station?

@5

Actually, I'm satisfied with the reporting done on the SPD here.

I was stumped, however, that nobody had an issue with the DOJ finding civil rights abuses at the KCCF and KCCF's reply that, while they agree that people are being seriously hurt there, it doesn't believe that violates their civil rights.

"The OPA Director and members of the Investigation Section will talk with you about the types of complaints OPA investigates and tell you more about the process. In addition, we welcome the opportunity to listen to your concerns or suggestions."

Snore. This is a waste of time. Telling a bunch of cops who couldn't change things even if they wanted to that Chief Kerlikowske has abused his unchecked power over the OPA won't do squat. The people who should really be soliciting citizen input on this topic are our City Council members. Instead, they seem to have largely abdicated things to the Mayor's do-nothing panel which has stalled this issue as planned.
