And white lights are only OK on silver trees. Green trees demand multi-colored lights. Though I must complain that the colors available are not as sweet as they were when I was a boy; the reds and blues are off somehow, not pure but tinted, and tainted. I blame the rage for faux "Victorian Christmas", which has replaced the jolly cartoon red Santa with horrible burgundy velvet and lace. The real Christmas comes in primary colors.
