King County Metro buses are running on delay on account of the torrential downpour we’re experiencing.
The operator at the Metro information line wasn’t particularly helpful, but he did say to expect up to an hour delay on bus routes.
Currently the 49 bus from Capitol Hill to the U District is taking a detour route up John/Olive along the 43 bus’s usual line, along the backside of Capitol Hill. All stops for the 49 bus on Eastlake, or anywhere north of John/Olive on Broadway are closed for the time being
Further queries should be directed to the King Metro information line: 553-3000.
…And if you’re thinking about traveling to Duval on the 311, think again, that route is cancelled.

Well, shit, and I was going to go hang out on Big Rock Rd. with my cousin. Guess we'll have to take a boat across the valley.

Really? Has there been a torrential downpour ever day for the last 4 years?
Sheesh, it's not like Westlake is washed out or anything ...
oh.
Last I checked the northbound 49 was still running the normal route.
At 8am Campus Parkway under Roosevelt was flooded and buses were not running through there. These included the 49, the 70 and several expresses. And at least two "SUVs" were stalled out.
Yeah, what's the deal with Metro not running transit service in amphibious assault vehicles? Metro sucks!
looking forward to the commute home!
the key is to enter the puddle SLOWLY. wish i'd brought the SUV for the clearance, but i brought my 900s.
if you rode your bike today, you are fucking crazy.
I'm in Freemont...I'm taking the Ducks home tonite...
@6 - Ducks of the world, Seattle calls you forth!
At least the bikes will still work, @7.
I rode my bike IN today. Not so much OUT. It's either ark or amphibious assault vehicle. I hear Metro's running some.
Hey thanks - I sent this to everyone in my office who rides the bus (I live 8 blocks from work so I walk).
Yeah, they’ll get you there - if they pick you up. My regular bus this morning was packed so full, the driver turned off the route sign and refused to let anyone else on.
Fuck Metro.
"We'll Get You There... Once This Rain Stops."
hey, cmon, leave metro alone. they only had a week to prepare for this!
#73 on 137th wasn't late. Driving 40 mph thu the giant lake in the road and ignoring pedestrians was no problem for those metro drivers. They're only late when there's no reason to be.
I'm on the 255 that was supposed to stop downtown at 5:38 but somehow picked us up at 7:10. Less than 2 hours of delay, not bad for the metro...
