Me and Cookies and Martha Stewart

posted by on December 18 at 22:01 PM

I meant to post this sooner, but tomorrow morning at 7:30 am Pacific time, I will be interviewed live on Martha Stewart’s Sirius Radio Channel about this story I wrote a few weeks ago for The Stranger.

I’m sorta nervous. I hope I don’t sound like a goober.

If you don’t have Sirius, you can get a free 3-day trial and listen online here. If you’re my mother, I suggest you do that.

Kewlz.

Meanwhile, my neighbor has been cranking Silent Night non-stop for the last half hour. I wish I was dead.

It's truly a wonderful piece--I bake myself when I am sad or trying to work shit out in my head so it resonated with me, I guess...great luck on the interview.

As someone who knows intimately the desperation of depression, your story really touched me. Congrats on your interview. Nice to know something good CAN come out of all this damn misery.

Have Fun Megan, talk about what your wearing - Orange Prison Garb!! Say your heroes are Martha and Ken Lay and that Josh Feit is proud of you. "Lie" to them and say this is just a one-time deal doing the interview because you're not into celebrity bullshit. And pretend your an intern because most everybody loves those adorable losers.

Um, scratch that, but I do have a request for "Never Do What You Are Told" by Chumbawumba to play in the background while you talk. Have a BLAST!

Ask Martha about the prison sex. That would make for GREAT radio!!

When I'm sad, I get baked. Come to think of it, most days I get baked wheather or not I'm sad.

also, all joking aside, good piece. I'll tune away from The History of Howard Stern (6am Pacific) on Howard 101 to listen to you and Martha. Ask her about "The Thumper."

Aw, where's Martha?!?! Who's the queer host?

Just playing. Good job Megan! And to all those that signed up just to listen to Megan online, check out the rest of Sirius. I suggest OutQ (109), and (of course) Howard 100 & Howard 101.

CAUTION: Eating too many cookies could make you fat which will make you unappealing for sexual action which in turn could make you depressed leading to more cookies. It's a slippery slope. Hopefully Ms. Selig isn't too far down that slippery slope.

get depressed and run a few miles next time instead of baking a shit load of cookies.

OK so I signed up for the free trial and read the Sirius FAQ and as far as I can tell you are SOL if you don't log in and listen at 7:30 AM tomorrow, right? Or do they have a show archive?

Unless someone ripped a copy of the show and uploaded it somewhere. Not that I'm saying you should do that.

They replay shows all the time, but I don't know Martha's schedule well enough to know when you'll hear this again. Keep the free trial and listen to Michaelangelo Signorele (sp?) from 12-4 Pacific on Out Q channel 109. He's a pisser!

That was a fantastic article. The structure (from a journalistic POV) was first-rate.

Megan,

Your article was one of the most successful journalistic productions of ambitious scope I have seen in The Stranger. It was as good a piece as that self-pleasuring, cacaphonic, entropic and embarrassing catastrophe Christopher Frizzelle whelped about Club Z was bad.

Congratulations.

The article is terrific. I'm glad for this post, because I didn't catch it when it was published! Now, I'm sorry I didn't hear your interview.
