So people aren't allowed to think your movie sucks because some critics liked it?

How does that follow, exactly?

Charles, I can't believe you've reduced yourself to using the hipster term "haters". You're not reading that Bible I gave you.

Other than that, we all know that it was your brilliance behind Zoo, not Devor's.

its fucking chaz, nothing has to follow. if a bunch of people chaz respects says something is good, he will believe it, and then try to tell you that you should believe it for no other reason than he told you to.

I still am fonder of the original title about forest birds.

i have to say, i'm pleased that you feel the need to validate yourself with us.

I think Zoo was my #1 favorite movie of the year, not the #6 best documentary.

I'm no hater, but I still haven't seen it, so I can't really criticize. I like the premise though, and the reviews seemed pretty good.

The movie's probably fantastic. I just hate your blog posts.

@1...Charles believes that there are absolutes in things even like aesthetics. So, a movie is either good or bad, right or wrong. That's why he's pointing to this list of critics; it's his measure of validation.

Charles, I disagree with your philosophies, but find you among the most charming and engaging characters in Seattle, and look forward to increasing banter with you. :-)

Congrats. I'm curious though -- how involved were you in the production of the film?

Everyone likes when horses fuck dudes. This validates that universal truth.

@13- Isn't saying Charles is being illogical by appealing to Wikipedia an appeal to authority?

@14 -- no, it's just a convenient way to explain the concept of appeal to authority without the hardship of using a bunch of my own words.

I remember Charles writing about his trip to some film festival with POLICE BEAT and saying, in hundreds of Stranger-salaried words, that anyone who didn't like his movie was an asshole.

The surprising thing is that Charles has h8rs in the first place. For most of us, he's our favorite Stranger writer.

Charles, you don't have haters. Reallx. Just an awful lot of very confused people scratching their heads and wondering what the fuck you're talking about...and why it's taking you so long to say it.

I wasn't really thinking Zoo was going to beat out Ratatoullie or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Congrats, Charles.

(p.s. don't tell anyone how easy it is to make a good movie.)

yay for charles!

why is it the only time you can compose a coherent, straight-to-the-point slog post is when it involves critical praise of your work?
