13 bottles of bubbly and you can still type? Wow, I'm impressed.

Love Ethan Mordden.

I'm far from family too and I think I compensate by inviting way to many people over to my house. It must be the big family syndrome. I had about 45 people come over this year and we had tons of food and a lot of fun.

I'm glad you and your family had a great time.
A big Christmas hug to you.

The Wii is for pussies.

Mr. Poe doesn't know from pussies. Big surprise. The Wii kicks ass.

I can't believe you're putting stuff in that great champagne. One before dinner, sure, but champagne deserves to be enjoyed as God intended: straight, in a bubblebath.

I am currently enjoying one of the many, many fine single malts you can buy around the clock in Las Vegas but are not available in Washington State (no, I'm not in Vegas, I'm in Utah). Muddy Crustmas, everyone.

I'm enjoying a (what? Triple? Quadruple?) of Lagavulin at my mom's cozy home in MN. She's got a bad case of pancreatic cancer, but nine months ago making it this far seemed unlikely. Who knows what 2008 will bring.

I got a motorcycle vest (from Eagle Leather, natch), a couple of books and CDs, and new headphones. Not a hoard, but my birthday is tomorrow so Xmas is usually light for me.

Merry Christmas, SLOG.

What sort of creep talks about presents given to a minor in his household.

Cool. We were mixing up the Kir Royales as well at my house in Madrona. Tasty alternatives to Mimosas...and then we moved on to wine....I'm a little tipsy at this point.

We started with mimosas at my parents' place this morning for brunch, which led to my mom telling the story "about the time we bought the bag of pot laced with PCP on purpose". Every Xmas party we've gone to this year has had a Wii and I have a serious want-on for it.

Champagne is intended to be enjoyed as often as possible, whenever possible, which is why my mom bought me a box of the Sofia blanc de blanc cans. Next stop: movie theater.

Cooking stuff for Christmas is the bomb, btw. Enjoy the bundt cakes. Make some for the next Slog party.

the wii does indeed rock. but i always get a kick out of seeing the wii haters posting all over the internets.

i spent about an hour today getting about 6 stars as luigi in Super Mario Galaxy. god that game is great.

We should have a slog commenter Wii tournament. I am hopelessly shit at all video games except Dr. Mario and WII BOXING. I am undefeated at boxing. I am UNDEFEATABLE at Wii Boxing. Which is hilarious if you are familiar with my athletic history.

Some people - when they see my moniker - remind me that Bela Lugosi is dead. Little do they know that my name comes from the Ethan Mordden Buddies series.

Hell, I didn't even know who Peter Murphy was until I looked him up years ex post facto.

One more week of LA before I head home. I can't fucking wait.

Ain't nothin' straight about drinking champ in a bubble bath.

Also, I got a sweet acoustic guitar (Fender) and a circular saw.

Finally, all video games are for pussys and faggots.

Merry Kwanzaa!

Personally, I think DJ won out. Happy Winter Solstice, little guy, and enjoy schooling your parents at Wii Sports as much as I do. :p

We had a lovely Christmas. Went to mass with a friend that morning, had breakfast with said friend and her family and then headed back to their home for Christmas dinner. I ate and drank entirely too much, and we're headed back for leftovers this evening.

Gifts aren't a huge deal for us, but I did score a new cookbook and some new CDs from the Dust to Digital label. Sweet.

Happy Boxing Day!

Sven, as you no doubt know at least as well as I do, there's no such thing as a "good" case of pancreatic cancer. It's bad juju, mostly because it's almost totally asymptomatic until it's so far gone that it's too late to do much of anything about it. It typically kills VERY quickly - the fact that your mom has lasted this long may be reason for hope. I wish you and her luck.

And lo unto them a savior was born...and he brought the bubbly!

I enjoyed the photo's perspective of Jesus lording over the empty bottles. Nicely composed.

and I've noticed, Savage and Mordden have a similar writing style.

Dan, you got TWO bundt cake pans? Lucky Bastard! I didn't get one and I hinted for a month!

Fifty Two Eighty @ 22:

Thanks. You're right, the biggest problem w/ getting pancreatic cancer is the giant dollop of nihilism it usually comes with it when you start looking at the statistics- "most deadly cancer", all that stuff. We are enjoying each day that we get.

Wii Sports is all the Wii is good for. Unless you like shitty graphics and retardedly easy gameplay. The fucking thing should come with a Wii droolcup.

why does anyone NEED two bundt pans?

how much bundt can a three person family eat?

and you know dan and terry MUST be watching their boyish figures; they are, after all, vain gay men.

Mr. Poe, let me watch you deal with the "retardedly easy gameplay" on the Luigi's Purple Coins level of SMG or some of the bosses on MP3. Thanks.

Posted by stinkbug | December 26, 2007 2:20 PM

Luigi's Purple Coins? Jesus, how limpdick can a level get?

Metroid Prime? Sure. Bring it over.

I'll play anything involving shooting the shit out of everything. Grabbing purple coins? Um. No. Not even to prove a point.

Forget the purple coins... riding those manta rays down the water slides in space is like doing LSD.... fantastic graphics....
