Slog Poll Results

posted by on December 21 at 16:37 PM

Here are the unscientific results of our very unscientific Slog poll, which was posted yesterday morning and stayed live for a very, very unscientific 32 (or so) hours. Make of it what you will:

Clearly, the local Edwards contingent has mastered the art of cookie-deleting and ballot box-stuffing.

Wooo. Maybe it won't be so hard for me to caucus for Edwards after all.

Once again, you've been had. Edwards's vote tally is more than half from the last hour or so. He was second, at about 20-25%, for almost the entire life of the poll.

If Edwards can organize last-minute votes like that come election day, he could win something important.

Please do not do any more unscientific polls. It amounts to disinformation. Disinformation is not benign, it hurts the process.

Thank you.

Interesting as until the evening it was showing Obama with a clear major lead, and Edwards trailing 2nd, and now it shows the other way.

I think someone may have linked the poll online to some Edwards lists, as none of the Elway polling shows Edwards doing even slightly that well.

And the Clinton numbers are way way too low - maybe we have a lot of Libertarians and Greens and Independents joining in with Republicans to skew the data.

A better poll would be one that shows all the non-dropped candidates for both parties, so you can only vote for one at one time ever.

But, in the final analysis, the Squirrels win.

What's with the Edwards trolls stuffing the ballot box? He was a distant second all day yesterday, and suddenly leaps ahead in a flurry of last minute voting.

Hint to Edwards supporters/ballot stuffers: trashing your candidate's credibility does nothing to improve his chances of getting elected.

SDA, the one whose credibility is being trashed by this poll is not one of the candidates.

Since voting for a Democrat in the primary won't matter, who is the best choice to vote for in the Republican race? Best for the Democrats I mean.

No one gives gravel any respect. It paves your forest roads. As a filler for cement, it's part of most buildings built today. If you've ever scrambled up a peak with some oaf in front of you, you learn to appreciate gravel. Gravel rocks!

Sorry about that. I've had a few glasses of wine.

Sigh. Clinton and Obama won't leave the stump to filibuster immunity for telecoms that were spying on us from February of 2001, while Dodd leads a real fucking filibuster. Why can't the man get a little love?

Dodd's like a killer robot with a pig's head and chainsaws for arms in the badass department

Dodd needs to be VP.

@9 - Well, it's not like Jenny Durkan's tops on the ethicality scale, so we shouldn't really be surprised, even if it is surprising from the Edwards camp ...

And @23 is right, Dodd will make a great VP for President Obama.

In 2004 my friend took me to an Edwards meet up and the group seemed pretty unsophisticated compared to the Howard Dean crowd. They would never have been able to pull off an electronic poll-stuffing feat like this.

Jim, a lot of the former Dean people ARE Edwards people now. Or Obama people.

mr fly on the head will not be vp. however, the esteemed congressman from cleveland would be great in that role. that won't happen either, though.

Clearly this poll indicates that Sloggers are sexist and racist. I am waiting for chatisment from Chaz and Erica any minute.

Let's play caucus practice.

Pretend the 1633 Sloggers are in a caucus.

Only O and E exceeded 15%.

Everybody who voted for someone else, now you can only choose O or E -- go re-vote. [N.B. Stranger cooperation needed for that.]

Then to continue the palying, we would have to pick real people to be the real delegates for O or E who promise us caucus goers to actually go the next caucus (legislative district caucus) in about 6 weeks to go and caucus AGAIN for their favorite. Hopefully then do go!

Then repeat this process for the county caucus later and the Demo state convention in the summer, where the "real" delegates for O or E or whoever will be chosen to go to the national demo convention.

If O or E drops out along the way those delegates are free to choose someone else at any time, I think.

Isn't "real" grass roots democracy fun??

Assuming C and O are the leaders int he delegate count at the convention, Edwards could be the "kingmaker" by throwing his support to O or E.

Maybe for a VP slot?

He will need some job to have a future in politics so he will want to be on the ticket. Obama has more freedom as he has a future just by staying in the Senate.

You could be part of history, by going to your Democratic neighborhood caucus on 2/9.

Another interesting poll would be:

of the 1633 who just voted, how many/how many in each camp, intend to go to their caucus?

how many know where it is going to be?

@29. Interesting analysis. My caucus is in my house. Whoo.

@ The Stranger - Since this is so unscientific, what is the point? Clearly the results mean absolutely nothing, so why are you even asking?

I've missed the "Dan Once Supported the War" troll. His pure unadultrated stupidity was a standard against which I could measure all other stupid troll posts. When he was gone, I had a hard time gaging how much I hated Ecce, issur, and unPC posts.

Thanks for coming back, "Dan Once Supported the War" troll!

Brave Republican Troll is on a smear campaign against Dan Savage today. He doesn't care about the children dying in Iraq. All he cares about is the fact that Savage supported the war at some point in the past.

My disgust cannot be overstated. if all you care about is smearing people who disagree with you while overlooking the suffering and death we are causing - and even supporting it - you are a lousy human being.
