Holding true to the rule over at Separated By A Common Language -- US obituaries follow the form "Person, who did stuff, has died", while in the UK it's much more likely to be "Person, who has died, did stuff. One emphasizes the news, the other honors the life. One's not better, or at least not for that reason; it's just an interesting difference.
