Everything is always better with hash oil or pot butter.

My friend always makes these delicious oreo truffles, along the same line. She's anti-pot though so no luck there... They're really good, despite the lack of pot.

Mark Bittman had a great and simple recipe for truffles in the New York Times. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C0CE3D71438F931A25751C1A9619C8B63

I hate truffles. They taste like dirt to me.

Now post some pictures of juicy flat irons and ribeyes. With sides of, well, anything that was once alive and is not ham.

I won't admit that beef is better than chocolate, but I will second your disdain for ham.

Y'all are crazy, a good ham cannot be beat. Forget that nasty stuff in a can, though; get yourself a real Virginia ham that's been hanging in a barn for two years and has mold on it. Or better yet a jambon iberico from Spain. The best stuff goes for $100 a pound. You don't like prosciutto? Philistines.

Ham sucks shit in hell. It's not even meat. It's something else. Something that sucks shit in hell.

"sucks shit in hell"

haha; keeping that one.

I don't understand how I love prosciutto, pork chops, bacon, and sausage, yet I hate ham. How such disparate things come from the same tasty animal, I'll never know.

I'm only down with da chopz. Fuckin' pigs.

Prosciutto IS ham.

Uh, that's only easy if you think shaved chocolate added to hot-n-heavy whipping cream is hard. A good truffle is about simplicity.

@18: But it's thinly-sliced, delicious ham, sometimes wrapped around something equally tasty. I hate the ham that's traditionally decorated with cloves, etc. Maybe I just hate the ham my mom makes. Thick, fatty pieces of ham aren't exciting for me.

Has anyon else tried the Vosges bacon chocolate bar? Am I the only one who was like "could be so good, but is instead so wierd...."?

I made the recipe, and it made about 120 truffles. I'm unleashing them on relatives and friends today. So far, they are delicious.
