Campbell was also given a 32 day jail sentence—which was suspended—and fined $500. At the sentencing, Matt Roach, a juror, spoke on Campbell's behalf and told news intern Brian Slodysko that the jury had issues with the definition they were given for assault. "Legally they were obligated to convict [Campbell] based on the conditions they gave us," Roach said. "But I did not feel justice has been served." Campbell says he's just happy for his case to be over "It's like having to pay for something you didn't actually... getting beat up by the police was probably punishment enough. i understand that when someone is running at you you might feel threatened, but there might have been better ways to handle this as well.
