Some of these cockrings are 1/4 inch stainless steel - it takes FOREVER to cut through them, and you have to do it twice (you can't bend the ring open with just one cut).

A second problem is the heat generated by the ring cutter grinding away at the steel. Generally the patient has to be sedated to keep from screaming while thrashing around, one or two people are using ring cutters, and some poor medical student is pouring water over the whole cock-spectacle every few minutes to keep the guy's dick from getting cooked. It's really annoying.
