Done!

posted by on December 14 at 17:07 PM

We raised over $60,000.

That’s $20,000 more than last year, all for the homeless and hungry people helped by FareStart.

Thank you so, so much. I can’t tell you how grateful we are.

If you won your auction, congratulations!

If you didn’t, consider giving a little something of what you would’ve bid:

Thank you all—donors, bidders, the people who worked to make this happen—a thousand times over.

Happy holidays, everybody.

I just finished paying - would have been done sooner, but my laptop decided to inexplicably power-off right as I was about to confirm all my cc info.

Note to Stranger Editorial Staff:

November 1, 2008. Mark it on your calendars.

Fantastic! All of the people who should be weeded out by means of natural selection will have their pathetic existences prolonged just a little bit.

Just kidding.

GOOD work, easy to give, bid, all online.

Added a little via pay pal, but lost the bid on four items. Too frugal, I think.

Go for the big 100,000. for next year ... nice work.

It's pretty neat you all did this. Although I've been disappointed in other stands Slog has taken over the last months, this showed some class. Nice work!

@5 I'll take your sofa, if it's free or under $20. I will even come get it from you. Let's pretend Slog is Craigslist.

@5/17

Hey, and I need a new bed. :D

@17 The sofa is actually a futon with one of the thickest mattresses I could buy--I don't want my friends to sleep on cheap shit. If you want, the futon is yours, my friends apparently don't need one.

@18 I bought the bed from IKEA back in '99, so all you need do is buy yourself a new mattress. The bed is easy to assemble, I still have the allen wrenches for it.

Oh, and you can both have the futon and bed for free. Selling them, that's just so tacky, y'know?

Who won the Slog for a Week prize? Was it ecce? Don't keep up in suspense.

You used to be able to get abortions at the Deluxe Bar and Grill.

Failing that, you can do them at home...

That's awesome! I think abortion is hilarious. If I was having one, I'd probably be a lot like Maggie in Happy Endings, only less assertive and more happy.

We don't exactly know who won Slog rights yet--I mean we know who won but not WHO won. I don't recognize the alias nor the e-mail address.
