Clinton on the Housing Market

posted by on December 28 at 11:33 AM

On KUOW this morning I was asked how the Democratic presidential candidates are talking about the housing market, the sub-prime mortgage problem, and possible solutions. You can listen to my answer here, or you can watch this brand new Clinton ad, which happened to be in my in-box when I got back from the show:

Housing Market?

Why? Only Middle Class people care about that ...

"Bush and Wall Street did nothing. Since then, home prices have plummeted."

Sweet, once the bubble finishes deflating I can afford to buy one. Stupid people decreasing supply when they can't afford to deserve to lose their homes.

Whaaaaaa my credit card / car / mortgage payments are too much. Live below your means.

Housing? Everything's "Fine" out here in the West, no? And all I remember was that you were starting the show with a taste of bubbly, Eli... Oh, yeah- you said something about some factions having a problem with "Liberals" bailing out the people who got in too deep into the sub-prime mess... & I wondered if it might have been the same factions who were outraged that the Feds should pay even more than the insured amounts for those who lost $$$ in the S&L meltdown awhile back... Bush1, wasn't it? ^..^
