Bad Trip

posted by on December 6 at 10:46 AM

Shrooms, the movie. The slasher movie, to be exact. Looks so painfully awful that it must be seen.

Or not. Shades of Reefer Madness’s mindless anti-drug hysteria plus Friday the 13th’s mindless teenage-hormonal hysteria equals a whole lot of hysteria for one film. Its tagline: “Get ready to get wasted.”

Who wants to eat some meatballs and go see a flick?

Shouldn't David Schmader have done this post? I thought he was the sucky movie expert here.

Awesome. This is the kind of movie that will be relentlessly pirated. Take comfort in that.

I'll probably see it by accident. You know, when you're at someone's house and it's on HBO, and you actually have to remind yourself, "I'm not actually paying for it, so why not?"

Writers from several places, but the founders are from Seattle, yeah. Former publisher and editor of TRIP Magazine:

I just write for it occasionally, even though I told Scotto I'd do it more often.

Can't I just eat the meatballs and skip the movie?

And NaFun, I thought Scotto was writing these sorts of entries for www.erowid.com. I hadn't realized he'd branched out with his own site.

13 I saw that trailer on a Hollywood video that we rented. There sure are some kooky, but well acted movies from no names and fil students I guess. Seems this is the trend from yourdaily media, i-films, and yes You tube self homemade writers and film geeks.
I can see this phenomena of history and social trends getting a place at the Smithsonian with its own little category of absurd , but strangely funny satire films. Films that you haven't seen, but know you will, especially if you don't tell anyone about it.
