Got a review copy of the Sweeney Todd soundtrack today. Depp sounds excellent. Everyone does. Alan Rickman can sing, too!

Johnny Depp can not sing this role for SHIT. Anyone who thinks he CAN sing is obviously tonedeaf, or has never heard the original score.

Didn't Depp & Gibby Haynes have a band together in the mid-90's?
Does anyone know if they were any good?

Burton's obsession with Johnny Depp has got to stop.

@2 - We've all heard the original score and comparisons are odious. Word on the street is that Sondheim loves the movie and Depp and Bonham-Carter; isn't that all that matters? See Dave Ehrenstein review above...and this:

A movie about war and manhood and coming of age and the evil of war and what war does to good people...now there is new movie concept.

How many times can Hollywood make the same damn movie.

Apparently the answer is that American's have an endless appetite for movies about young men going to war.
