So the drug war is making drugs cheaper. Maybe its not such a bad thing after all. Can we declare war on Xbox 360s and HDTVs

Keep in mind cocaine was all the rage during the disco era and the dead years afterward. The price was high because of the sky high (pun so totally intended) demand.

Actually, in light of Giffy's comment, I'm all for declaring war on bar food. I just paid $12 for a steak plate at Smith. The steak and fries were good but I RAISE MY PITCHFORK AND DEMAND FISCAL JUSTICE.

I think it's the subsidized production in Afghanistan that's impacting drug prices.

Another Red Bushie victory!

@4 Will, Afghanistan produces opium for heroin. None of your weekend blow comes from Asia Minor, it all comes from South America, baby. That said, Afghanistan has been producing record opium crops year after year since 9/11, producing something like 92% of the world's opium. A lot of the heroin in the US comes from that other 8% though, much of which is produced in Mexico and South America as well.
