Oh man. I just looked at the route map for the first time. That thing is ridiculously short! I work in South Lake Union and it would barely even be worth it for me to take it downtown. That's like a ten-minute walk from Westlake and Denny.

As with so many things, I bemoan why it can't be cute AND practical.

The Hooters Commuter tracks are craptacular for bike wheels. And I can't wait til some asshole parks their Escalade too close to the curbside tracks on Westlake, grinding the entire 1.3 mile network to a screeching halt.

I've seen red, orange and purple. I think the orange might be Scots-Irish.

@15. I love the tracks on Fairview in front of the Hutch for the same reason.

With the monorail, the bus tunnel, the waterfront streetcar, and now SLUT, do we have a complete set of trivially short, non-useful transit options? If we throw in the gondola that used to run in Seattle Center (and is now at the Puyallup Fair), do we have enough of these to qualify for a free wooden escalator or something?

note that all are coincidentally about 1.3 miles long: SLUT, George Benson Waterfront streetcar, Alweg, and the DSTT. At least the transit tunnel could be very useful.

The Stranger should start a pool for the first reported pedestrian or moving vehicle (car, bike, motorcycle, truck,oncoming SLUT)collides with a SLUT. Date Time and size of resultant lawsuit against Metro and the City are the required metrics of an entry in the pool. Winner receives a one day pass to Disneyland (Anaheim), and a one year subscription to Seattle Magazine.

Cute, and a delightful move in the right direction, but us down here in Tacoma still have you beat by YEARS with our light rail.

It's still just one little route, but at least it takes you to useful places. (Har har, "I'd rather walk anyplace in Seattle than take light rail to anywhere in Tacoma", I've heard it all before).

Yours is cuter, though.
