re boyscouts: that's what Raleigh, NC did about 5 years ago. they told them to stop being assholes or they would be kicked out of the public schools. i think it just means that they meet in churches now, which is at least more honest.

I was is BSA and nearly made it to Eagle. I can only say that it is an organization that really should be extinct in the 21st Cent. Think about it, it teaches basic survivalist skills, taking oaths and the uniform thing. I mean how militaristic can a boys organization be without becoming Hitler Youth?

Growing up in Alaska, the whole Boy Scout survival thing had some very useful applications.

Hell, even on Capitol Hill, who wouldn't want to be able to do things like snare a hipster? Just make sure to sprinkle coke and PBR around the trap... gets 'em every time.

I was a Capitol Hill cub scout. Mid-1970s. Some of our folks started a new cub scout den just for kids of single moms, blacks and hippies. A lot of us happened to be fags of course. I got a bicycle safety merit badge once. For our one "hiking" trip we went to the wilds of Tacoma, Point Defiance, and got lost within minutes.

I'm going to assume that people with chronic or incurable diseases also aren't allowed to immigrate to New Zealand. Unless, of course, NZ's government has decreed that keeping out people with HIV is discriminatory.

thank you for this stuffing recipe! I have been looking for a good one, but when you google that shit it's all jimmy dean sausage and croutons.

It's probably the easiest part of dinner, but I'm still not convinced I'll do it properly....

Re: the fat woman not allowed in New Zealand... I could maybe see her not allowed if she was 500lbs, diabetic and ate a dozen eggs for breakfast every day, but from that photo she really doesn't look like a rhinocerous at all. In fact, she looks quite pretty. And fat people can take good photos, too.
