onSeattle police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in Wallingford Tuesday night.About 7:45 p.m., police responded to a call of three shots fired near the intersection of North 41st Street and Wallingford Avenue North.
“We responded and could not find anything,” police spokesman Mark Jamieson said. “We were later contacted by University of Washington hospital security who said the victim had been transported there.”
Seattle police gang unit detectives were on the scene.
41st and Wallingford is one block away from Wallingford Park and Hamilton Middle School. You can Insert your own joke here about Seattle’s parks and schools needing a license.
SPD doesn’t have any news on the shooting yet, but I’ll find out more later today.

Any chance the victim was on a bicycle?
I zoomed by on my scooter about 5 minutes after. I couldn't figure out what was going on.
wallingford is so sketch! the gang activity is really out of control & the police need to crack down on the durn good's beer & wine license.
I run there in the early morning hours (4:30 am or so) and I guess I need to get a gun. Wallingford and soon Greenlake...new havens of crime!!!
Y'all is crazy.
You realize, of course, that this is in the dead zone between police stations - halfway between the police station at N 95th (or around there) and Downtown.
I used to walk by there every morning. Now I walk a few blocks south of there, and sometimes drive along N 40th.
Clearly, this shooting is directly the fault of the dry-cleaner on the corner of 40th & Wallingford, it being the closest business in proximity to the shooting location. Therefore, it is incumbent upon all of us as law-abiding citizens to contact the Mayor's Office immediately and demand all dry-cleaners in the City be shutdown forthwith, as threats to public safety.
