But back to the focus of this article, Sugar's wasn't making any money on most of the gay nights except on Friday night from what I've been told. Unfortunately, when they started catering to the str8 crowd, that left one less option for the glbt crowd to have on the weekend. If you look at the trend of the clubs on the hill on Pike and Pine, with the exception of the Wild Rose, most of the clubs on Pike are straight and most of the bars and clubs on Pine are gay. Neighbour's is the bridge between the gay and str8 bars.

I reported it as me and my friends SAW it! If I was a racist do you think I would be at "African Queen" night- a night singled out specifically for members of the black community? And with my friends no less? All I know is there were always fights (I witnessed at least 3) AND my black and Latino bartender friends complained that the tip jars kept getting stolen- things that never happened on other nights of the week including Latino night... After a few months of stolen tip jars and brawls amongst the black patrons the owners shut "African Queen" night down. Anyway- just reporting it as I saw it...
