onPenicillin and indoor plumbing and Nintendo are all great things, but while surfing through Amazon.com, I found this:
I want it, I want it, I want it. Nothing beats the dense, crispy edge of a perfectly cooked fudge brownie. This pan is amazing. I wonder how well it works…

@4 The centers are clearly the best otherwise this pan would have been invented sooner. Hundreds of years of center-centric brownies are a testament to their awesomeness.
But does it come pre-filled with oven-ready brownie batter, like that new brownie pan I am seeing commercials for?

If only it were possible to build a pan that was no edges, all center.
@16 - round pans maximize the center. The bigger the round pan, the more center. The equation to explain this definitely involves pi, not @13's pie (which is flawed because they like rhubarb), and a square of something else.
first, brownies in a round pan? i'm not sure that's standard protocol. even if i grant that, you still need the square of something else. it's inescapable.
@17: I was kinda thinking the same thing when I saw the pan. Don't mistake me, I love brownies, but coupled with the mention of "indoor plumbing", I mean ... how could I not?

Centers are defintely the cream of the crop, but I can't tell you how many times where a month of desserts I provided for myself after collecting all the baked goods' edges at night's end of a BBQ and other assorted fake-happy gatherings.
p.s. Since I'm hopin to split this town soon, I'll drop off the two Jam tickets for you behind the 'security' gates in the next few weeks. Understood if you want to shun the idea; pass off 'em off to Christopher then, or sombody you may think cares about music. Without Weller though, eh, he's kind of like music's Indiana Jones, everthing is shite anyway, just need to tune discernment. Your call.

Saw this thing reviewed on a cooking site a ways back... personally, I don't think the edges of a brownie are so great, but even if you do, I think you'll agree with the fact that there is one huge problem here - it's basically impossible to get the brownies out of the pan as you're always next to the side. What fun, right?
We own one of these pans. They work great, but don't even bother trying to get the brownie out in one piece.
A all-center, no edge brownie pan can be made: A sphere coated with brownie batter!
Brownie batter is pretty thick, so you may be able to get it to bake without falling off the sphere. Or you can bake it in outer space where you don't have to worry about gravity. Perhaps someone can get funding from NASA for an experiment.
So, we totally have that pan, and it totally works. The channels are a little more narrow than the picture makes them look (they talk about making lasagna in the pan, and lasagna noodles are just slightly too wide).
@26: or some kind of non-Euclidian hyper-brownie pan.
My mom used to make brownies in muffin tins to maximize the edge. And then you don't have to buy a special/weird pan. Fellow edge-lovers, try it! :D

I have it, it works well, and the recipe they provide so you make the right amount of batter is fantastic. If you love edge pieces, it's definitely worth it.
