That Saudi Rape Victim Sentenced to 200 Lashes After Being Raped?

posted by on November 19 at 10:21 AM

There were actually two rape victims in that case—and both were jailed and whipped.

The young woman’s offense was in meeting a former boyfriend, whom she had asked to return pictures he had of her because she was about to marry another man. The couple was sitting in a car when a group of seven men kidnapped them and raped them both, lawyers in the case told Arab News, a Saudi newspaper.

The woman and the former boyfriend were originally sentenced to 90 lashes each for being together in private, while the attackers received sentences ranging from 10 months to five years in prison, and 80 to 1,000 lashes each.

The woman’s sentence was subsequently upped to 200 lashes after she appealed her sentence.

I'm going to have a hard time asking my boyfriend to spank my ass in bed tonight.

Glad to know the country that continues to provide more than 90 percent of al-Qaeda's funding and volunteers is such an ally.

With friends like that, we don't need any enemies - they are them.

I wonder how they decided who got to rape the guy? *No, no brother. There is too much tempation with the woman, I shall rape the boy. No, no. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the sake of allah, may his infinitely merciful name be praised.*

If you don't intend to stop using their oil
you can STFU.

All your petty bitchin ain't gonna change a thing.

@6 We don't actually use my Saudi oil. Mostly we use Venezuelan oil. The reason we like to protect Middle Eastern supplies is so we don't have to compete with Europeans for the South American stuff.

It's interesting to me that the female victim is now married, and that her husband says they are appealing the ruling. The optimist in me hopes that he is the same guy she was going to marry before, and that he loved her enough to buck the trend in Muslim countries of blaming the victim and viewing them as "soiled." Oh wait, that's our country too.

Just remember this is how the American Taliban wants America to be - the Pat Robertson's and Jerry Falwell's and Lou Sheldon's, etc., would just flip out in rapture if they could have religious law replace the constitution.

there is a solution. just like unleaded gas engines wiped out leaded ones... in time hybrid vehicles will make our current vehicles obsolete. Hybrids are going to be a necessity if war keeps the price of oil high. I really don't mind driving a car with a little less power to not be dependent on a bunch of backward assholes who happen to be lucky enough to sit on an oil rich land. Technology will make their arrogance wither in time.

#7: Same fucking difference. Our dependence on oil requires protecting supplies and placating allies and trade partners. It doesn't matter if we're currently using Venezuelan, Mexican, and domestic oil. Our dependence is still propping up Saudi Arabia. So in the end, the poster you're replying to remains correct.
