I feel your pain Eric.
They can always lez or somethin'. It isn't a long ride.
Charles, you know that Clearwire totally, completely blows, right? Let's countdown the days until you return it.
I totally envision a buddy road trip musical à la Road to Rhode Island.
I have used Clearwire since last December and I haven't noticed any problems. The slow speed is faster than the DSL in my area.
MFH has a point. Everyone on slashdot is totally down on them.
But neat view!
My main problem is that they position themselves as a "wireless" Internet provider, which is technically true, but not. See, wireless has come to mean portable and battery charged, like your wireless phone, or a laptop with Wi-Fi. Anything you have to plug into a wall, really, isn't wireless. Not in the way that we're used to thinking of wireless.
So, yes, technically it's wireless, but it's really a deceiving way to advertise. And if you don't think they know that, and that they count on that, then you need to get cynical, friend.
Wow. Is this ever exciting.
Can we go back to hot African babes, cool architecture photos, and dead tyrants, please?
MFH,
Mudede might be referring to a truly wireless WiMAX network card, which Clearwire has been rolling out in some markets. But I hear you on the standard "wireless" modems that most of their customers use. Btw my main bone of contention is that I had to try out the modem in practically every square foot of my house before I could find a spot where I'd get an adequate signal.
@ Drewvsea: Naw, those PC cards aren't out yet, early next year, unless Mudede got some special hook-up, which is possible. Also, the cards' service is far more expensive than the basestations', sadly. I know Charles, he is cheap.
I feel your pain, Charles.
@11
