Ron Paul Blimp to Terrify Big Government, Children

posted by on November 27 at 10:15 AM

Dear Ron Paul Supporters,

Everything you do makes my day sparkle. When you decided to coin your own currency and put Congressman Paul’s face on it, I cheered. What daring! If former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore had had supporters willing to put his face on a silver dollar, maybe people would have realized he was in the running for president this year (he was!).

So when you announced that you intend to rent an ominous looking Ron Paul Blimp, my heart soared, possibly in tandem with your ambitions:

RONPAULBLIMPRESIZE.jpg

A blimp? A blimp!

Imagine.. the mainstream media is mesmerized as the image of the Ron Paul blimp is shown to tens of millions of Americans throughout the day (and throughout the month). Wolf Blizter, stunned and as if in a trance, repeats the words “Amazing, Amazing”.

RonPaulBlimp.com, the headquarters of the Paul Blimp Movement, will answer most of your questions regarding the blimp, including:

-Will I get to fly in the blimp?
-What is the maximum I can donate toward the blimp?
-What do I get if the blimp doesn’t actually happen?

And, par for the course, this libertarian flight of fancy is actually already incredibly well funded: The site reports donations of $272,325, more than 2/3rds of the way toward the budget of $350,000 a month it would take to operate a flying airship suitable for a man such as Paul.

With what kind of toxic nerve agent does Ron Paul fill his blimp?

More politicians should travel by blimp. It's the most honest mode of travel for them (and also zombie-proof!).

It should be filled with hydrogen. Just so that it can literally crash and burn just like Ron Paul's credibility on closer inspection.

Man, its going to be pretty boring a couple months when Paul’s candidacy is dead and buried.

Till then, fly high Dr. Paul, Fly up, up and away, in your beautiful, your beautiful blimp.

Countdown till Paultard barrage in three two…

@5

if you remember correctly, the paultards are boycotting the stanger, so they'll never see this.

Did the paultards really pledge to boycott The Stranger? That is hilarious! I bet Dan is terrified!

I know it will not be filled with literal hot air but the metaphor is going to have a good run.

The blimp in that picture is within 300 yards (150 smoots) of MIT. I hope Paul has considered a fighter/bomber escort. One CO2-propelled robot-fired broomstick javelin could ruin his whole day.

Awesome. Rob Paul's blimp is hovering over the Shire. Nerds unite!

Next: Huckabee rents a Sopwith Camel. Bring it on!

@5 Ah, but you haven't been reading your tea leaves lately. Now that Ron Paul knows he's getting neither the nomination nor the VP spot, he's begun talking of a third party run. The entertainment may not end for another full year.

@27: Looked like airplane seats. Perhaps the inside of the blimp cabin. Are seats for sale to high rolling Paul donors?

Check that. It's two rows of four seats each with Fujifilm logos in a small aircraft cabin:

I have no idea why the idea of a blimp seemed like a good idea. Let's remember that Paul is a Republican looking for primary voters; he only has to compete against Nascar in S.C.

Why would Paulinistas boycot the Stranger? This should be a perfect place for Paul. Who's going to stand up for the benefits of a big Federal Government after the last Seven years? Everyone should be in favor of more State control over everything from the environment to no-child-left-behind.

I British so you may choose to ignore me, but I noticed the Ron Paul Revolution, and I think that the Blimp is fantastically ecentric. Most of you seem to be making fun of them for their enthusiasm, but I think its great. If you stop for a moment and think you will realise that America is already flat broke and the dollar is crashing in slow motion, I see no bottom for the dollar. If you look into it you WILL find that your government has already set up a "draft" board, I assume to attack Iran. A small number of your fellow Americans are digging deep into their own pockets and spending all their time to get your attention. Please respect their efforts to save your arse.

The Ron Paul Blimp pledges are now up to about $475K!
They only needed $350K, so Ron Paul gets the blimp!

By the way, his total fundraising for the 4th quarter is at about $9.9 million, which is ahead of Thompson's entire 3rd quarter final!

His "money bomb" brought in $4.3 million in one day, and without having to pay any expenses or commissions to fundraisers! He has a money bomb event on 11/30 (rudysreadinglist.com) and one on 12/16/07 (teaparty07.com)

Ron Paul voted NO on:
The Iraq war use of force authorization
The Military Commissions Act that eroded our rights to habeas corpus
The USA PATRIOT Act.

Hillary Clinton voted YES on all of these!

Ron Paul's plan for Iraq? Just bring the troops home. The money saved reduces the deficit and helps the US economy.

Ron Paul is my favorite candidate.

Now if I can just get over the fact that he is a Republican...

Setting the blimp aside for a moment, looks like the MSM marching orders involve promoting Huckabee endlessly. Ron Paul had 2-3 questions and limited time. He still crushed them all (how come every article forgets to include his comeback to McCain which mentioned that Ron Paul gets more Military Contributions than any other candidate?). Mitt is dead after desecrating the Confederate flag. Many Southerners died under that flag.
Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like America Deceived (book) from Amazon, warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.

I've read nothing that would suggest that Paul will be flying around in it. Also, this is completely individual based donations, the campaign has no official relationship.

Yes, the Ron Paul blimp will strike terror into the hearts of statists everywhere. The Constitution will live again! Pregnant Iraqi women will no longer give birth to monsters created by breathing depleted uranium. The borders will actually be secured. Our savings will no longer be destroyed by inflation. The Europeans will have to pay for their own damn defense. Oh, the horror!

We are spending hundreds of billions of dollar overseas with over 700 military bases around the world. Who's paying for it? We are printing money and borrowing from foreigners. Can't we really expect to live beyond our means forever? No other candidate is addressing those issues, everyone else got special interest in their pocket and says things you want to hear so you can vote for them. I'd encourage everyone to do your home work before making a decision. Ron Paul 2008!

BTW, I donated to the blimp and to his campaign, first political donation in my life.

A question for you?

Do 100 totally uninformed yet heavily opinionated Seattleites who have no idea what they are talking about, know more or less, than 1 totally uninformed yet heavily opinionated Seattleite who has no idea what he/she is talking about?

Vote for Ron Paul! A vote for any other candidate, Republican or Democrat is a vote for FASCISM and a future POLICE STATE.

Don't believe me? Then you need to stop drinking for two seconds, stop smoking weed for a day, slap yourself in the face and WAKE THE FUCK UP and look around to see whats slowly happening to this country.

QUIT THE CONSTANT SARCASM FOR ONCE AND CURE YOUR FUCKING APATHY! GET INFORMED

The comments that suggest Ron Paul is not expressing the same ideas that us internets people believe is the most disappointing thing I've seen for awhile. Is this more of the college kids that just hate all government and all military? These are the same kids that will have state jobs in the future and douche it all up when they start their money grabbing.

Dear Giffy, Cochise, and Mike in Mo,

Yes. We all banded together and decided to boycott the Stranger because you have such an influence in world affairs and election results.

And we're the ones who believe in conspiracies, right?

Have fun voting for Kucinich/Nader again. Meanwhile, Kucinich will be voting for Ron Paul.

Forget it Oldguyfox. I live in the same town as these jokers. You can't break through the paradigmatic snobbery of people like this unless you appeal with more snobbery. Ron Paul would have to listen to indie-punk, wear jeans that are tight around the ankles, and die his hair black before he could bitch about the world with enough credibility for them.

They'll think outside the box once they're displaced from their jobs cutting hair, serving coffee, and bitching about customers by PhDs.
