I will say this, the first movie was good (but historically out of order in a pretty blatant way). As a matter of fact so out of actual chronological order of her reign that a second movie was bound to be disasterous.

A better film version of Elizabeth is the one HBO did a few years ago with Helen Miriam(?). True, she is not as good of an actress as Cate Blanchet but historically it's much more accurate.

Yes, the Helen Mirren HBO film was better on several levels but neither film accurately depicts Elizabeth's pock marked, acne ridden, make-up caked visage.

regarding the chances that "Golden Age" will get an Oscar or at least a nomination for the costumes: DUH!

The Rules for the costume Oscar are:
Period beats Modern.
The older, the better.
Edwardian rules...
But, Victorian beats Edwardian...
and Elizabethan trumps all...

oh, and I hear Edith gives great Head..
