When I first saw the Ron Paul banners popping up in unlikely places, I tried to talk sense to some of his boosters. No luck. He seems to have attracted a whole constituency of paranoid third-party geeks who like him because of how little they know about him. You can't burden them with information any more than you can reach the committed Nader or Larouche supporters. Like those groups, the Ron Paulies will soon fade into obscurity.

Wow, I'd like to hear what the Ron Paul supporters say about this.... Personally I would never even consider voting for Ron Paul for many reasons, and I believe these statements indicate he's a racist. However, I also think some of his statements are objectively true. I've been mugged or attacked several times in Seattle and other cities, all by black males. If it is true that black males commit crimes out of proportions to their numbers, then it seems that sensitive people who are not racists realize that there are reasons for this, but it doesn't make the statistics false, and people shouldn't be afraid to point this out in a sensitive way.

Um, okay, I think your facts are bit off. Ron Paul never said those things. They were written by a ghost writer who was fired for making racist statements in Paul's newsletter.

Ron Paul paid for the education and living expenses of his five children during their undergraduate and medical school years. Do you think if Ron Paul were black he would have been able to do this?
