<title>Comment by Beachhead</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>On a completely different tack from the first commenter, I'm happy to feel a shiver of civic pride because of this. Portland is a great place, duh. But the amount of fetishization, which has really reached fever pitch in the last six months (in the mainstream media, at least), is too much.<br />
I, for one, am happy to see that some things are not determined by hype.<br />
As a p.s., a friend was in P-Town for their fashion week. Her response: it was more humorous than anything else. Sort of an amateur night at the Apollo feel.</p>]]></description>
