Considering the state of our nation, there's no way you can be overwrought when describing the madness.

it's a shame he panders to the o'reilly-style culture war bullshit so much. he's very articulate, but sometimes he says the most shrill, over the top, retarded shit, and of course it's the retarded shit that gets the most attention.

They put some kind of processing on his voice, an echo or something, and ramp it up during the dramatic moments. When it's done well it's very effective, but when they use a heavy hand it sounds ridiculous, like he's in a barrel or something.

Good speech though. I'm glad someone is saying "jail" in the same sentence as "Bush". Even if he is a little over the top. The O'Reilly stuff is just fun and games.

He's not over the top at all. Any American who gives a damn about the Constitution should thinking the same thing. Bush and Cheney belong in jail. Impeachment is not enough.

Chimpy McSlaughter needs to be in prison. Look around at how fucked up everything is. Honestly. There are so many outrages that one doesn't know even where to begin. Yeah, I can be over-the-top and a bit too dramatic, but DAMN. These fools have wrecked this nation.

God, when you combine yesterday's link to the Naomi Wolf essay plus today's Olbermann video, it's hard not to feel utterly helpless as this country fiddles its way into the flames. Meanwhile, Feinstein and Schumer give yet another pass to the Bush gang and Barney Frank tries to convince America that trannies don't deserve equal rights. We are truly fucked.

Fnarf, I think that noise was an artifact from whatever moron thought he could figure out how to use Compressor to encode this video. The audio quality is horrendous.

I'm getting to the point where I really would like to see this entire administration, and possibly the democrats that sit idly by, either behind bars or six feet under.

Less than a year to the next election and I still don't feel safe that it will turn out ok.

Read this article side by side with Naomi Wolf's article about 10 easy steps to a closed society and you understand why I'm not going to breathe easy in a year just because we elect someone new- I'm going to be on pins and needles until the Chimperor leaves office without a coup- And I'm not shrill conspiracy nut but the writing is on the wall- he's only playing dumb.

ITMFA, and then send him & co. to prison. When is enough too much?

I just sent a e-mail regarding this to Maria Cantwell. I guess it's a start, but I can't help but feel a little impotent doing that...

What do I do next?? Write an actual letter to her & Patty Murray? Go out & protest?

I jus' want to scream: Impeach this Motherfucker now!

Olbermann is shaping up to be our generation's Edward R. Murrow. More power to him.

Do not impeach this motherfucker. Even if there was enough time and support, impeaching and removing Bush puts Cheney officially in the driver seat. Let's not do that.

Okay, also I know it is intended probably as motivating rhetoric - but as a non-American (Canadian in fact) all this BS about America(ns) being "better than that" etc. really makes me crazy. All of this, the last 7 years prove that Americans are patently NOT better than that. I mean seriously, if it was any other country the UN would be supervising US elections already. So why don't people like Olbermann get off their high horses and argue for what is right based on it being right and leave off this stupid "we are better than everyone else" rhetoric?

You know how Schmader occasionally complains about Molly Shen's yamminess? It seems that Olbermann is suffering from the same condition: the yamminess, not the complaining.

@ 12:

I agree. Murrow was god-like; Olberman isn't there yet, but give the boy time.

@ 14:

the last 7 years prove that Americans are patently NOT better than that

You make Keith's point for him here. We WERE better than that. It's just since Chimpy McWarmonger that we've been circling the drain. Olberman doesn't say we're better than everyone else, he says we're better than THAT--"that" being Chimpy and company. And we are.

ITMFA, to borrow one of Dan's campaigns.

We're not better than the rest of the world, we just need to have some kind of moral compass in the Oval Office that works and doesn't mispronounce words like "nuclear." My god, how many brain cells does it take to pronounce a word right?

This period in history will indeed be looked back on with, at the very least, shame and embarrassment.

Rightly so.
