Oh good grief. You aren't still pining over Al Gore, are you?

If he didn't announce his candidacy in the wake of his Nobel Peace Price, then it ain't gonna happen. And as a practical matter, the early primaries are now less than 2 months away! Though I'm not absolutely certain, my guess is that it is probably too late to even get on the ballot for some of the early states, even if he announced tomorrow that he was going to run.

Give it up, already. He isn't running. Get over it.

bright side: he may be able to be more effective via guiding vc investments vs. trying to get congress to pass stuff like a gas tax.

I can see the attraction for Gore: Kleiner Perkins is all up in some game changing shit: solar thermal for $.10 a KWH? Yes please. Gore coming on board as an advocate for these technologies may speed adoption...

Oh come on now. First off, you know as well as I do that if you want political power in this country, the way to get it is to buy it as part of a powerful corporation.

Second, if the man lays the groundwork for the technology that reverses global warming, he saves the world, not just America.

I'm also in agreement that Gore does a hell of a lot more good challenging global warming in the private sector by helping fund the creation and proliferation of affordable low-emissions tech... than from squawking at an Oval Office perch. Don't let Dubya fool you: there is only so much a president can do.
