Nothing on the article in the PI about the developer for 500 Pine stating that they are "improving the neighborhood". Apprently, shutting the clubs down is an improvement.

How many years until Cap. Hill looks and feels like Downtown Bellevue? I give it 6 more years. Soon there will be a Restoration Hardware and Williams Sonoma....

I'm willing to consider the possibility that I'm misreading, but I think something's amiss with the wording of your Sudan news item... beginning with "...I'm like," coherent sentence flow seems lost, and unpaired paretheses reign supreme. In the end, I just walked away with the notion that you love parentheses, and hate Muslims.

If Venezuela wasn't a country it would be a venereal disease. If I owned a hog I'd name him Mohammed, but I wouldn't take him to the Sudan.

No matter where you stand on the �cultural sensitivity� question, I�m like: Sudanese Muslims have no credibility on anything. In addition to the genocide in Darfur (why aren�t thousands of Sudanese in the streets about that?)

Well, that much should be obvious, at least: Darfur protests pose a clear, direct threat to the current regime. Protesting a white foreign scapegoat is easy by comparison. It's the same thing that's gone on throughout the Middle East - governments have cracked down on liberal pro-democracy movements while right-wing Islamic groups enjoy free reign.
