The Wall Street Journal has the scoop on the dangerous world of teen booty shaking.

Look for Charles Mudede’s coverage of the growing “freak-dance” phenomenon in his upcoming article, “Is Freak Dancing Too White?”

God, where have these parents been for the past ten years? More importantly where was everyone when the New York Times wrote about "backing it up"
three years ago
?

C'mon, let the parents have their outrage. They need something to disapprove of, and their kids need something to rebel against.

Wait... so this dancing style that was popular when I was in middle school a little less than decade ago is only now getting news coverage? Odd.

As a parent, I must say that I am APPALLED and DISGUSTED at this new(ish) fad! It's almost as bad as wearing pants that hang too low!

We must pass LAWS banning this horrid behavior. With sex offender registration requirements for anyone who does it, too.

I expect Charles' inevitable article to quote Heidegger and suggest that these ladies get back in the kitchen.

I'm appalled that she used the phrase "dadgum nasty".

Wayull, that's jist dadgum nasty! Put them kids in chastity belts STAT!

The thing that cracked me up about the article was that, when a DJ put on classic rock, it totally killed the party and all the kids left. Led Zep and Aerosmith are elevator music now. GAWD, I'm old.

It's tough to freak to Aerosmith.

it's never tough to freak to uncle luke!

lets be honest though, once you reach a certain age, freaking, especially two on one freaking while dressed nicely just loses its appeal.

I know a substitute teacher who chaperoned a middle school dance recently, and all chaperons immediately got between guy/girl couples freak dancing. However, she noted that none of the other chaperons seemed concerned when a guy/guy couple started going at it. When she pointed it out to one of the regular staff and he didn't have a good response, she said, "Well, I guess it gives them a chance to explore new things."

All I can say is ...

"Roughriders!"

(if you don't know why, you don't know about last year's prom ...)

The answer to Mudede's question is obvious.
