posted by on November 16 at 15:43 PM

This just in…

You guys have any idea why a pair of helicopters has been hovering over the CD between 23rd/Jackson and 23rd/Massachusetts for at least the last 20 mins? Something must be going down.

Anybody?

I believe the student anti-war protest is walking through there.

Speaking of...

Anyone know why the cops closed Spokane Street at Columbian Way and the West Seattle Bridge on-ramp during rush hour last night?

It took me a motherf&%$king hour and a half to get home and not a peep about it on the news.

@4 - I saw on the news last night that there was a jumper on that freeway overpass and that it was closed down for hours. Good news is, he didn't jump.

I thought the sirens and helicopters might mean that things were getting out of hand, so I went to check it out.

Turns out that it was just a typical protest scene. A few pics at:

@4, @5: The West Seattle Blog had info on the Columbian Way closure:

Is it also the Stranger's policy not to cover jumpers?

@10 - please, Jumpers, consider West Seattle for all your jumping needs. I don't need to walk by police tape and your dead and mangled bodies any more.

A bunch of teenagers decided to skip school and get some exercise instead. This is where they decided to congregate afterwards and congratulate themselves on their fine masturbatory skills.

@ 4 and 8,

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear the dude didn't jump.

It was the most horrendous traffic jam of the last three days.

Could we get a blanket ban on IMAdrgQ, whose every post is simply "nig nogs"?

I came home through 23rd and Jackson a few minutes ago, and it was fine - nothing at all unusual.

Now 24 hours ago was a different story. That's where the pedestrian got hit.

It was an experiment in noise and air pollution. They do the experiments often. Keep an eye out for them all over the city.
