Dan Satterberg Exit Interview

posted by on November 7 at 0:23 AM

Lindy here.

The Satterberg party was still rocking out HARD when we left. Nothing much interesting happened in the second half of the night, except that Susannah Frame wouldn’t tell me who she voted for, and a bunch of young Republicans wouldn’t tell me anything at all (in all sarcasm, they admitted that they “love immigrants” and “love abortion” HA HA!). We made fun of their sweater vests and they asked us if we went to community college. Check and mate, young Republicans!

On our way to the door, we ran into Satterberg and his shiny shirt in the crowd. (Kismet!) This was an excellent opportunity to address his earlier claim that he didn’t remember the 2000 election, which, whether or not it was relevant, was definitely annoying.

SECB: “So did the GOP money help your campaign?”
DS: “We got a lot of support from a lot of different people.”
SECB: “But specifically the money from the GOP?”
DS: “Yes, I think it helped, but [blah blah blah every little bit counts]”
SECB: “So, now that this election’s winding down, do you remember who you voted for in 2000?”
DS: “Honestly, it’s hazy.
SECB: “Well, it was a pretty memorable election.”
DS: “I remember that I voted for Anderson in 1980.”
SECB: “Any chance you remember who you voted for in 2000?”
DS: “I wasn’t really involved in politics until my name was on the ballot. I wasn’t affiliated with any party until I ran.”
SECB: “So until 2007 you had no interest in politics?”
DS: “I don’t understand the point of these questions.”
SECB: “I just think it’s weird that a politician doesn’t remember voting in what was maybe the most memorable election in recent history. I mean, when the Supreme Court handed the election to Bush were you like, ‘Yeah!’ or were you like, ‘Aww’?”
DS: “I just wanted it to be fair because people lost trust in the system.”
SECB: “Was it fair?”
DS: “I don’t understand why you’re asking me about this.”

In conclusion, I would just like to say:

Community College is soooooo lower-class. Ugh. Us "Republicans" have, like, like, like images and shit, like, to uphold, and shit, like?! Ta-hoo-tally! Bitches what?! GOP FTW!!!

Look. I'm just going to say this, and link to this from now to eternity. Republicans/Conservatives are either retarded, moronic, gay, idiotic, or they're in love with Jesus...who just so happens to be an imaginary "friend".

And yes. I do promote the genocite of all Christians. You heard it here first, bitches. I hate you. I hope you all fucking die , bound, naked and completely oblivious to your "wrong-doings".All I'm saying is, I hope all of you "Christians" die a horrible, horrible death. And I hope you children die a horrible, horrible death. And I hope the ants in your house die a horrible, horrible death.

And when I read about said deaths, I will laugh. All into the night. Huahohohohohohooohooooo!!!

The thought had already occurred to me as well, but congrats for being the first to put it in print. The resemblance truly is uncanny....

Hey SECB...did you guys ask about past drug use at yr. interviews? If so, what did Dan say?

Lindy,

Like I said, it was certainly fun chatting with you tonight. I'm a huge fan of slog, and now I'll be able to keep an eye out for your posts, specifically. Hope to run into you in the future! And I've since taught my colleague to speak English, no worries...

Cheers,

Fierce Part

Mr. Poe. Part of what makes Liberals superior is that we allow everyone to choose their own lifestyle, and then we help them succeed at it. So just, chill, what you say is unnecessarily rude.

The only good republican is a republican who is out of office.

#7 Amen

Just think, over the last twenty years, how much LGBT people have suffered in this state and many others, and at the fed level because of the R's - just remember in 2008 and don't let them off the hook

So nice Seattle, so stupid in many ways in this era, and seems, getting more stupid

What a liar. There is no way an attorney as apparently intelligent as this guy Satterburg wasn't following the 2000 election outcome in the US Supreme Court. He's acting like a real slimeball.

And Satterburg: Dude, we're asking you because we are incredulous at your repeated lying...we are amazed at your lack of principles around the whole topic of elections ...

awww... fuck it.

I have said it before on Slog and will say it again: There IS a growing Conservative Reaction in Seattle. This election in many ways points towards that reality. Are the new comers to Seattle from more conservative areas of the state and country? I really would love to see some of those statistics.

I'm with Poe, feed them all to the lions.

The Dems who gave money to him and endorsed him will regret it when he wins a seat in Congress for the GOP.

@14 Will:

I think you are right. This has all the signs of a grooming. What do ya' figure? 6 years?

Let me tell you, Fierce Part was not pleased when I suggested that he may work for the ghost of Jennifer Dunn. Although, he didn't deny it.

After affably joshing with the YRs about their sweater vests (argyle, natch), one angrily retorted, "Our sweater vests aren't half as gay as Dan Savage." Still, even if they're only 25% as gay as Dan Savage, that's still pretty fucking gay.

Also, remember when I was hoodwinked by Bob Ferguson? Fool me once, Ferguson. Fool me once.

Lame, SECB, lame. That exact photo montage circulated around in KCPAO staff email earlier this summer.

...and oh yeah, Dan thought it was funny.

@15 - yeah, probably 6 years. He can't run in 2008, has to have at least 2 years and a re-election (this doesn't count) under his belt.

This will bite the Dems in the butt soon. And they will have created it.

@5: Lovely to meet you too. Free abortions for everybody!

@16: FERRRRGUSOOOOON!!!

@17: How could I possibly know what circulated around in KCPAO staff e-mail this summer? Also, duh.
