No, I don't love 'W but it seems to me that if the Democrats win the White House they will want to keep the Patriot Act in place as the next president will get the briefing that will scare the hell out of her as to the daily terrorism threats.

And it is a violation of our constitutional privacy rights. you could also argue that Bush's use of signing statements unconstitutionally broadens the power of the executive thereby weakening Congress and the separation of powers

Also it is conceivable that the Bush administration has tortured legal residents of the US violating the prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment.

There's something about Congress having the power to declare war, not the President. Oh, and I think Article VI says when a treaty is ratified it becomes the supreme law of the land; you can't just ignore treaties you don't like. Even if you're the President.

There's also no religious test for public office. Same Article, number six-o. When the President was tolerating members of our armed forces such as the Air Force Acadamy cadets to who demanded Christian oaths of their subordinates, he was letting the Constitution be eroded.
