The actual alliterative parallel -- "a woman" :: "a head" -- is much more evident (and effective) in the audio. Perfect, practiced timing.

there are some people (miranda july, chris crocker, hillary clinton) who could pretty much gargle their own diarrhea and still be lauded as geniuses by slog authors. clinton's response was the obvious one.

I too long for a president who sounds as though he actually finished high school.

She's still better than any of the seven troglydytes running for the Reds.

I mean, they don't even believe in evolution ...

are you confusing obvious with clintonian? or, every time Hillary says something "clever" are you going to attribute it to bill?

When was the last time we had a policy debate in a presidential election. Its fucking rediculous coming from a political theory background listening to these people, even the "articulate" ones are speaking empty words.

the longer this goes on the more pissed i am. we need a British style election. one month and over, none of this perpetual campaigning

Policy debate?

The MSM decided they want a horse race, and already chose your candidates - you get Sen Clinton and Mayor Guiliani.

No policy debates.

That said, I thought there was a writer's strike, and it's strange they have writers for this ... especially from strike-supporting NYC ...

I agree 103%

Like a few years ago, the Bob Dole would have said “They’re not attacking Bob Dole because Bob Dole is a woman, they’re attacking Bob Dole because Bob Dole's ahead.” The difference? The *Clinton* campaign uses pronouns. And uses them correctly, I might add. And do add.

And Gore would have said “They are not attacking me, Albert Gore, Jr., because I am woman, they are attacking me, Albert Gore, Jr., because I am ahead.” No contractions! Unnatural! Stilted! And everyone already knows when you say I, you mean yourself. See above about the pronoun thing.

Yes, sir, Mr. Frizzelle. That Clinton campaign has a real live native speaker of the English language writing for them. Probably one who has had schooling of some sort too. Pure political GENIUS!

Al Gore would make a terrible woman.

I think that it's interesting that the inclination with this is to conjecture that Hilary borrowed this line from her husband. If Hilary is a brilliant politician it must be because of her husbands influence not because she is inherently brilliant.

Al Gore makes a hot woman. Or a woman hot. Both.
