14 killed by Christian terrorists, what will Bush do about that organization?
Clinton's goons got to Spitzer.
Polanski - who is 74 now, can you believe? - directed "Rosemary's Baby" a year before that incomprehensible tragedy in 1969. My oldest sister was pregnant when she saw the film and - well - was spazzed for several days hence.
Bob Evans said that it was the final coffin nail in the Sinatra-Farrow marriage. Frank didn't want Mia to do the film. He had other plans for her. Evans convinced Mia this role was going to get her an Oscar nomination (it didn't). Sinatra gave her an ultimatum. The rest is history.
It's a visual delight like most of Polanski's stuff. Remember the scene where Minnie Castevet (Ruth Gordon) is making a phone call in the next room to her "special" doctor and she's partially obscured by a door frame? The guy who shot it said, "Roman, we can't see her in frame." Polanski said, "I know. Leave it." The cinematographer went opening night and watched as most of the audience lean sideways trying to look around the door frame.
Oh..and Bill Fraker shot the film. The apartment bldg. used for external shots? The Dakota.
Mia did the right thing. Fuck that asshole.
