Another Elected Official’s Double Life

posted by on November 23 at 14:52 PM

CENTERTON, Ark. — The mayor of an Arkansas town resigned on Wednesday, claiming he was abducted and brainwashed by Satan worshippers nearly three decades ago

Centerton Mayor Ken Williams said he has been living under an assumed name for nearly 30 years. He had been mayor since 2001.

It was a double-life he had never acknowledged, Williams said, because he didn’t even realize it existed until he had recently taken a truth-serum injection

Wow.

(Thanks, Sarah.)

I still don't understand what prompted the guy to take an injection of "truth serum." I have nothing to say but ... WTF?!

Awesome. And there's an Indiana connection which leads to my mom's hometown. Sweet. This story's crazy.

Are we sure that "truth serum" isn't a metaphor for a hot beef injection?

Did this revelation occur in the gym Jacuzzi?

This sounds like total bullshit to me. There was a huge case very similar to this back in the 80's involving "multiple personality disorder"(which has next to zero evidence to prove it exists anyway)in which several women recovered totally fraudulent memories of satanic cults under similar circumstances (i.e. fives years of shock-therapy and truth serum, and the like). Besides, the idea of "repressed memories" is a total sham.

@ 6: Well, whether repressed memories and multiple personality disorders are fake or not, it's listed in the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, v.4--used for mental health diagnosis). Go to the library or your local psych grad student and look it up. And yeah, I know homosexuality was once listed in there. But I kinda think MPD is for real.

So, either he's got false memories (quite likely) ... or .... he actually was abducted ...

Either way it's not good.
