Not to be too picayune about an otherwise quite complimentary piece, Brendan, but "Annex TheatRE" is spelled like that; always has been, always will be.

Brett Fetzer is a genius and Annex Theatre with thrive under his leadership. It's good to have more Jews leading Seattle alternative theatre groups. Mazel Tov!

Eric F @3: Check the big 5 in town - it's Seattle Repertory Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, The 5th Avenue Theatre. It's a convention, not a misspelling.

Anyway, congrats to Annex. May you be the powerhouse you've always been, only now with new (old) management, and better digs.

What became of NWAStudio? I know they had some people there that were involved with Judy-ism, yet the Studio is now gone? What does that tell us about those that do practise Judy-ism? I loved NWAStudio, I'm sure Annex will do wonderfully too, because I am sure some one there is involved with Judy-ism.

Yeah, my major was in "Theatre," but I've always found that anglophilic spelling annoying. When I was changing my tyre in front of Seattle Centre I got so mad at all the goofy theatre spellings that I threw a rock at Seattle Repertory Theatre, which is why I languish in the County Gaol.

My betz on Fetz, but people should cease spelling theater "theatre" this side of the pond--it makes them sound like faux Englishmen, T.S. Eliot types who say "ECK-tually" instead of actually and stir their tea with their tools when they think no one is looking--

I gues some people are too poorly educated to be able to read a dictionary.

I'll begin spelling "theatre" using the alternative as soon as all you Anglophobes agree to change all the other words in the English Language ending in "re", such as:

lucre
ochre
acre
sepulchre
pyre
premiere

Those are just a few, off the top of my head.

In short, the entire "theater versus theatre argument" is pointless, inane, and etymologically inconsequential.
