Hence, a week from Sunday when the Bears face off against the Seahawks in a re-scheduled-out-of-prime-time because-the-Bears-suck game, prepare to lose. Sure, Seattle is the city that drinks the most coffee, but it's energy drinks and chocolate that win football games. Or so I seem to recall. And has any Savage mentioned lately that Chicago has a kick-ass public transportation system (for the time being. . . )? Seattle just keeps losing in so many ways. Now, back to your regularly... Chicago government didn't create the elevated system--most of the system in use in the city today was formed from private rail systems.

My last house in Chicago before I moved to NYC was across the street from the Metra, and the Brown Line (or the Kimball Line, if you're an old Savage or something) was a half block west of that. Chicago itself is a hybrid of smaller towns that were gobbled up.
