Slog - Comments on Who Likes Giuliani and Thompson?

Not the hard-right evangelicals who see themselves as king-makers in the Republican party. Some are now saying they won't endorse Thompson because he's not anti-gay or outwardly religious enough, while others are saying they might go as far as to back a third-party candidate if the cross-dressing, abortion-allowing Giuliani wins the nomination....

Can the evangelicals pretty pretty please run a third party candidate? That would make my year and my election. Im thinking someone on of the Alan Keyes variety. He is just crazy enough.

It would make my year, too - I think it would show once and for all how little influence they actually wield.

@1 Now, now, Keyes jumped into the race, and that's as big a gift as he can give us. Now, Roy Moore, that would really fuck up the GOP this year. Hell, I may send him a check.

They are both so boring so far I don't know how they could interest anybody in anything.
Dobson wants to see a third party and I can't see that they have any choice. Nobody who is running represents what they want to see.
For people like me the world would be a better place if people like Dobson would shut up!

Third party
Fourth party
Fifth party

Let's open this puppy,

The two parties have been locked in a death-tango for far too long.

They both dance to the same band.

We need a new orchestra to go with these new dancers.

Maybe a whole new ballroom.

i can only hope that the christianists are crazy enough to field a third party candidate. that would seriously ensure a democratic victory next year. my parents are born again right wingers and i asked them about their choices next year. anti-romney (because he's mormon), and not for guiliani or thompson either. my dad says he "supposed he could vote for mccain if he had too". i think that there's a chance that the right-wing of the republican party is just too demoralized to come out in force for any of the top-tier republican candidates.
