A test I'm sure as it isn't JFK!
Is that Schiphol Airport in Frankfurt?
Seeing how the picture is shitty, you're the guy behind the camera.
I dunno where you are, but it looks like you fell down and are laying on your side, so get back up and take a proper photo.
Turned the whole thing sideways? How avant-garde!
The outlets are hidden.
I love to travel and I love getting to and experiencing new places, but I have yet to meet an airport I like.
They may be fancy and have places to pass the time, but ultimately, they're large, crowded Greyhound bus stations where you have to walk for miles to get where you need to go and where a bottle of water is $6 if you can find an open vendor.
The international terminal at JFK has been nice for about 9 or 10 years, at least. Furthermore, JFK is a dream compared to LaGuardia. LaGuardia is just fucking nasty.
Dan hurry!!!!
Senator Craig isn't stepping down!!!
That can't be JFK -- where is the seven-foot ceiling and the nasty chipboard corridors that go on for miles? And what have they done with all the people?
If you want to see a nice airport, go to Copenhagen. Seriously -- it's calm, warm, homey, relaxing. Wood and nice lighting. Nothing is far to walk to. The train doors open right there in the terminal. Friendly helpful people. Clerks and waitresses who can effortlessly make change in six currencies at once.
If you want to go to Hell, go to Heathrow.
@1: Schiphol is in Amsterdam.
I was stuck for too long in O'Hare last week (don't look surprised) and was wishing I was instead stuck at Seatac, the almost bearable airport.
Fnarf: no shit. It's sad when Newark airport hosts the nicest airport in the New York area. It's not really nice, but it is a big functional reasonably-maintained bus station. JFK and LGA are fucking nightmares.
And yes, Heathrow is human hell. Do NOT go there unless you really have to. Gatwick sucks too, but on a more human scale. Both are incredibly grotty.
Schiphol is an athletics course... sit for 9 or 10 hours in seat 42H, then have to jump up and run about 2 km for your connecting flight. There's always the long layover option in AMS... Pink Floyd Coffeeshop, here I am.

Amen to that.

I've never been to LaGuardia, but Newark Intl is better than JFK in architecture, design, etc.
However, Newark also wins for worst airport terminal service EVER. I ordered a bagel for breakfast there, and the teenage girl turns around to the old guy in the kitchen and screams "Did you hear that muthafucka? Muthafucka wants his bagel!"
Actually, this was Penn Jillette level rude in the sense that it was awesome!
JFK is a real airport in a real city that is more vibrant, more interesting and more Jewy than white racist Seattle. I love The Stranger's Manhattan vibe. When I'm homesick, all I need is a bagel, a Stranger and a cup of great Seattle coffee. Luckly with the internet we can share even more photos of our trips to New York.
Well I know where Dan isn't:
He ain't at Newark flying home direct on Alaska. Nor is he at Delta's bloody awful Pan Am terminal at JFK.
No, Mr. Savage is using American's relatively new & clean JFK digs. Let's hope he got upgraded from that horrible lavatory seat he had on his last flight back east.
OMG, you were at JFK today? *I* was at JFK today! We should've had lunch.
Just kidding.
I, too, was amazed at the sweet new terminal(s). Now, if only they could make the damn thing easier to get to.
I think DFW is worse than JFK, and always has been, personally. But like someone else said, I've never met an airport I actually liked.
Narita wasn't too bad, very well-organised and well-staffed with helpful people who spoke English.
Hey Dan/ Mr. Savage, I know this has absolutely nothing to do with this subject but I was wondering if you had heard of this:
The U.S. Air Force won the Ig Nobel Peace Prize this year for its proposal to develop a "gay bomb" -- a chemical weapon that would make enemy soldiers want to make love with each other, not war with the enemy.
oh boy.
Dan did you check the washrooms out. Have they been renovated too? Could be a story there. But if you are in a stall and on your lap top (multi tasking) do not tap on your keyboard too loud it will be interpreted all wrong.
BTW the airport pic does not look very inviting, weird reno. Looks like a mall with nothing in it.
