Voice Mail of the Day

posted by on October 22 at 10:31 AM

Received this morning, apparently in honor of Hillary Clinton’s visit to Seattle this evening:

Eli. Protest down at Benaroya Hall. We’re protesting Hillary Clinton. Gonna start about 4 o’clock this afternoon. You should come, check it out, do a story, or whatever you guys do. So yeah, protest, Benaroya Hall, Hillary Clinton. Allright, bye.

Hillary Clinton's existence is unfair to non-Hillary Clintons! Down with her, I say!

"...or whatever you guys do."

Maybe the caller wants to you get together a review board at Stranger Central to discuss everything that's wrong with Hillary Clinton, and then release a web video of the event. Then much debate and humor about manboobs can occur.

I love both Benaroya Hall and Sen Clinton. She'll make a fine choice for a cabinet position or backup choice for VP.

Why not protest Doc Johnson instead?

Hippies. Hil's not my ideal. My ideal candidate does not exist. But she will likely be our nominee, and I will pour my time, effort and money into getting her elected. What's wrong with you people? Did you learn nothing from the Bush/Nader disaster?

Oh fine, go protest. Get it out of your systems.

But rest assured, when she is nominated, and the choice is Her Hillariness or Romney, you'll be pulling the lever for Clinton just as fast and as often as you can.

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU TOO WILL BE ASSIMILATED!

Mitch Hedburg once said he wanted to protest protesting, but he didn't know how to express it.

Yeah. Let's wish our party to a guy who already lost once. Let's wish our party to a guy who is arguably a hypocrite, as well as someone spending most of their time chugging energy and gas to 'spread his word' on saving the Earth from global warming. Because everyone knows he can't do that by telecommuting...which is something he tells us to do instead. Let's make sure unused electronics and lights in our house are turned off, because if we don't we could possibly be using 1/6th of the power he's cashing at his ever-so needed mansion, even though he's 'out' spreadin' the word.

Let's hope he gets the Presidency, because environmental issues (regardless of the hypocrisy) are all that really matters. Especially right now. You know. With the war and all...(?)

Go Gore. World super genius. And hey, maybe if he takes office, everybody will take him super seriously because of all the time he's spent on this one fucking issue that scored him a nobel prize (and how!).

Go, go, go Gore. We're lost without you. Help us.

Yeah. Gore is my candidate too. But he's not freakin' running. Dammit.

@11: I dunno. Romney came a lot closer to providing universal health care than Hillary ever did.

So much for progressivism. Third-Way-Hillary's nomination will bring us back where we were in 2000, with neither candidate really exhibiting a difference worth a damn in the race for the center. Give me multi-party democracy or give me Canada.
