Very often, I feel like hype or debate in print that preceeds an art show like that colors the viewer's response to it. They then prepare themselves for "controversy" and respond to that, as opposed to just taking the image on its own merit and responding to that. What do you think?

Anyone who's ever been around a 4 year old knows how naturally sexual they are. It's when they're discovering their bodies, feelings and sensations. Big deal! Why is admitting that seemingly creepy? Nan Goldin is no more or less a prev than this guy because all they are doing is observing, or perhaps emphasizing that fact. Regardless of whether its "staged", it's a fact of life.
