...strikes again. Seen on a park bench in Cal Anderson this afternoon: Similar "urban cozies" had been spotted previously on sign posts and bike racks and often disappeared within a few days. This park bench cozy was probably applied recently....

Comment by christopher

@Kate+Explorer: Maybe rather pedestrian next to the ball & chain on the working man, but FAR more interesting than the "work" of 3Assholes and the like. Frankly knitting and crochet are weird-ass hobbies form my POV, because they can only produce one thing: Knitted and crocheted goods. Which aren't very thrilling. But for the (mostly) girls doing it, it's about the effort. I applaud them for that, and hope they do more daring stuff in the future.

@Christopher: What's so bad about knitted and crocheted goods? And no, it's not about the effort. It's about tactile pleasure, relaxation, intricate patterns, clever constructions, custom-made clothes with a great fit, and much much more.

And there is time for doing daring stuff and doing stuff that you like.

These things are obviously some kind of plot. Either Commie, or Muslim. Some kind of attempt to sap our vital fluids and distract us from the struggle to come. We must stand firm against public urban niceification before we all become pinko weak kneed crochet enthusiasts and the cold fabric of democracy itself becomes warm and snuggly-wuggly, thereby giving comfort to our enemies and the succour of secretive chortling to the slavering fifth column! Be aware people! Building Seven was infected with crochet!
