Jesus Christ, the possessed girl with the pizza cutter has haunted me for years, I had no idea where it was coming from until now. How did I see that when I was so young? I'm going to call my mom and demand an explanation.

The Twilight Zone movie, particularly the monster on the airplane wing - but really the whole thing. For weeks (months?) afterward, all my brother had to do was sing "doo-de-doo-doo doo-de-doo-doo," and I'd freak the fuck out. Nightmares and everything. My parents probably shouldn't have taken little 7-year-old me to that one.

Those fleamen from the original Castlevania. I swear they were always waiting at the foot of the staircase for me to stop playing and go to bed.

@4 - Totally agree about the Twlight Zone movie. The plane, and the one where the little boy can have anything he wishes for and he wishes for his sister to have no mouth. The shot of her with no mouth freaked me out to no end.

@7: i saw the peewee movie last year (late, i know! but i did watch the show when i was little), and large marge terrified me! it's all about the unexpected.

Yes! Halloween 3! No one ever knows what the hell I'm talking about when I try to explain it, "no, it doesn't have anything to do with those other ones, it's the best, and it's got the sweet song." Blank stares.

My stepmom used to drag me and my brothers to a bunch of drive-in B-movie horror flicks in the late '60's, so I got sort of innured to the schlock value from being bored off my seven year-old ass by such "classics" as "The Dunwich Horror" and "Count Yorga, Vampire".

But, yeah the little voodoo doll from "Trilogy of Terror" had the kids in my neighborhood freaked out for weeks! And I will admit to feeling pretty creeped out by the mirror-eyed albino ghouls from "The Omega Man" (both not surprisingly based on stories by one of the Masters of Terror, Richard Matheson).

But, the monsters that still give me shivers are all the disgusting mash-up creatures from John Carpenter's remake of "The Thing". That skittering spider-head thing in particular still sends chills up my spine.

DUDE! YES! All of my biggies were already gotten by others, but, to recap:

1) Large Marge (Sent me screaming from the room at my friend's 6th birthday party)

2) Cyborg lady

3) Airplane Gremlin / No Mouth Girl / Monster Dan Ackroyd from Twilight Zone the movie

And to add a few more:

4) The Banshee from Darby O'Gill And The Little People (which caused me to pee my pants rather than go to the bathroom because I was convinced the Banshee was in the shower)

5) Meg Mucklebones (the green water hag thing) or the dancing black dress dummy from Legend

Nice with the Space Herpe too!! Ice Pirates is among the top 5 truly enjoyable bad movies ever made, like, so enjoyable, it really transcends the entire idea of "so bad it's good" and actaulyl becomes legitimately good.

Oo! OO! And the ghoulie that came out of the blow up Dracula toy in "Ghoulies". Forgot that one!

*shudder*

The Voodoo Doll in Trilogy of Terror messed up every kid in my grade. I meet people my age (40's) who are still freaked out about that last shot of Karen Black. No spoilers people... let the those who haven't seen it have a fair crack the kind of blind terror we had as kids with the mere mention of that film.

Does anyone else remember the TV movie from the late 70s, I guess, with the ghost of the little girl who had fallen down the well trying to catch her doll? Aiieee.

Also: brain-eating armadillo larvae things from Star Trek II. Made me want to cover my ears for weeks.

aaaaaaaaaaah!

the little spidery robots from scanners (?) that shot people with something that made them blow up! horrifying!

and the weird things out of the weird animal in that star trek movie made me sleep with the blankies over my ears for about seven years afterwards.

Also, about 10 years back my friends and I met Malachai(Courtney Gains). His friend said to us, very seriously, "Yes, it's Malachai, don't freak out, just be cool, he's a regular person."

Luckily we were able to keep our collective cool.
