Rossi to Make an Announcement This Thursday

posted by on October 22 at 15:28 PM

The PI is reporting that Dino Rossi will officially announce his candidacy for governor on Thursday.

Of course, the Democrats contend that he’s been running (illegally) ever since he set up his “non-partisan” and “non-profit” group Forward Washington in early 2006.

I hope Rossi gets elected. I want more right wing wackos in charge of my life. Yeah, they take our rights way , spy on us, and run the place like Germany circa 1937,but their hypocracy and idiotic behavior is just so damn funny to watch!!!

Am I the only one that thinks that 'Dino Rossi' sounds like a cheap sparkling wine?

For years they've been saying that Rossi was going to quit MotoGP and take up rally cars or Formula One, just like Michael Jordan switching to baseball, but it's pure hype. Rossi has eyes: he sees how badly that stunt worked out for Jordan. Some day he might retire, but he isn't going to just switch games like that, and if he does switch, it's much more likely that he will race cars than run for governor of the state of Washington. Besides which he is an Italian citizen (although he has enough money to make citizenship a minor technicality).

Even if Rossi did want to be governor, he isn't going to do it in 2008: he's go a real shot at another championship, and he is not going to let that slip away.

I don't get why he's doing this. Christine Gregoire (or "Chris" as her spinmeisters would prefer) is rather more popular now than at the time she was elected, so he would seem to have little chance of winning. Is he just gambling that an economic downturn will make the voters want change? Is he just being a good man and doing his bit for his party? What's the motive here?

It ain't 2004 any more. This state is much different in terms of outlook and prospects. Craswell and Carlson had the sense not to run twice. Rossi's naked greed and sense of entitlement indicate a severe mental block with regard to Republican electability in this state.

Yawn. Did anyone really not see this coming? It's three years later, and Republicans are even more unpopular than before. Good fucking luck, buddy. Enjoy taking the eastern half of the state and losing over here.

Follow the bribes.

Ooops, I meant the money. But with Red Bushies like Dino Rossi, it's the same thing.

Maybe he's just going to announce that he's letting his eyebrows grow out.

This Rossi guy is slime, y'all. I agree with Will in Fremont.

Why thanks. But I'm still waiting to find out if he's qualified to run as a GOP candidate - has he formally admitted to cheating on both his wife and his mistress and then remarried for at least the third time?

It's all about those "family values".
