I think Justice Thomas is a thin-skinned victim-y intellectually-dull dick with the wrong ideas for America, but...

"agenda-driven, ignorant, and in some instances racist attacks on Justice Thomas"

...is hardly the race bating that you imply. I agree with this statement- *some* of the criticism probably is racially motivated.

So any kind of criticism is a "racist attack"? Tell that to Anita Hill, Judge C. Thomas.

Duly noted. Poor victimized black guy.

America: You are nobody unless you are a victim. I am sick of living in a nation that celebrates victimhood like it is some freakish cult.

Justice Thomas has friends?

Sure. In a world where "Concerned Women for America" is a hate group, criticism of Clarence Thomas or his book is a racist attack.

I'm gonna write a book about how modern american "victims" cherish their status. Hint: if the only thing that's hurt is your feelings, you're not a victim.

Wow, talk about race-baiting. I hope that people take the time to read the link. It does NOT say that any criticism of the book is racist. While I don't think that I've ever agreed with anyone who agreed with Thomas, I must say that I believe that "some" attacks were racist.

Clarence Thomas is totally incompetent.

His politics are an ultra right wing horror.

His race is of no interest at all.

Clarence Thomas was only confirmed once he trotted out the race card at the Anita Hill hearings. He has made his entire career out of playing that card at every opportunity. He may be a one trick pony, but it's a damn good trick. Look where it's gotten that smug son of a bitch!

In a just world Clarence Thomas would have no friends.

Shouldn't we be asking Harry Reid about this?

I recommend reading Hunter S. Thompson's last book, KINGDOM OF FEAR, which contains a novella all about a crazed (and completely fictional) road trip taken by Thompson and "The Judge" Clarence Thomas, through a nightscape of dead sheep, stranded prostitutes, trailer park suicide, sex doll violence, and hijacking a plane at gunpoint... all instigated by The Judge. It's hilarious even without knowing what a reprehensible screwhead Thomas is in real life.

"Awesome, not Angry".
I get the feeling that the text of that article is no less child-like than the title. I want to chuckle at it, but I'm too saddened by it.

What bugs me is that the mainstream "liberal" media -- NYT and NPR come to mind -- were as balanced as they were. Although I completely agree with 8 who says that Thomas is a right-wing horror, I'm not sure it's completely fair to say that his race is of no interest; it only serves to demonstrate the level of self-hatred a person can live with (something we 'mos are very familiar with).

While my personal views coincide with #8, I gotta agree with #7 on Dan's framing of this one. The article says "agenda-driven, ignorant, and in some instances racist attacks on Justice Thomas".
Seems like an at leat plausible contention to me.

I take the most exception to the agenda-driven bit. How else are his critics supposed to approach his drivel?
