Jonah on Joystiq

posted by on October 2 at 9:51 AM

Jonah’s story from two week’s ago—about a woman who was fired from her contract job at Nintendo—gets linked on some blog that he and Bradley have heard of.

Way to go Jonah.

This whole fired-for-blogging story is interesting in so far as she is kind of cute. And the fact that the story was linked to is interesting in so far as she is kind of cute.

Other than the fact that pictures of a pretty girl were found on the internet, not so much interesting.

The commenters there are apparently all 14 year old boys.

Then there is me. I've wrote some game reviews for the Stranger and yesterday I broke the story that Bungie and Microsoft are about to split up and then the internet basically melted after that.

I was going to post links but the spam filter didn't like it.

14-year-old boys? - that is being generous. They are just uber-geeks who have no other sex life than their misguided fantasies. They would wet themselves if a real woman actually talked to them.

Gamers aren't hurting anybody. And it doesn't take much wit to put them down.

On one level, you have to admire how they can live their lives in a weird bubble completely devoid of logic. In the same breath, a number of commentators say, "Too much make up! Looks freakish in the second photo!" but that they'd still "hit that." Such generous souls.

That's why I only read The Slog instead of those immature gamer sites. It's just pathetic when the whole discussion is about a woman's appearance.
